This short video shows in plain language how the ProSilence system disconnects and removes unwanted vibration noise. Remember that all sound is moving waves, in this case transferred to water to visualize the effect!

NEW! AutoCalc allows you to automatically calculate your material needs for a complete soundproofing of your room >>
NEW! RED series has an even softer silica gel and thus decouples with even greater effect. As a result of the softer silica gel, it is recommended to use double the number where heavier objects such as a baffle wall, subwoofers or heavy furniture are to be placed. We recommend designing using RED series.
Specially produced U-boats for Norwegian pole dimensions are finally available from DreamScreen! The 49mm width allows for the use of both 48x48mm and 48x36mm floor studs. You can also use 48x30mm, but then the floorboards must be sufficiently rigid to tolerate this and you have to think about the weight that will later load the floor. The price is per piece, but you get a discount when you buy 100 pieces or more.
This new v2 version uses a proprietary composition of silica gel instead of rubber, a material that is even softer and thus has even better sound insulation properties as even more of the vibration energy from the sound waves is dissipated in the U-boat. In addition, silica gel has very good fire-technical properties.
Calculate 7 U-boats per square meter of floor.

If you are looking for the best possible noise-reduction from your cinema-room there is simply no way around decoupling the floor, walls and ceiling. If you decouple, the sound is unable to travel as easily through the construction, reducing ambient noise very effeciently.
You need about 7 U-boats per square meter floorspace when using 48x48mm or 48x36mm studs. You can also use even more shallow studs, such as 48x30mm, but in such case we recommend using 15 U-boats per square meter, or every 20cm instead of every 30cm.
Installing the U-boats
There are lot of alternative methods on decoupling your floor. Rubber U´s, however, has proven very functional both in terms of decoupling-effeciency but also in regards to easy and comprehensible installation. This method is popular in both professional studios and home cinemas. These U-boats allow you to place 48x48mm studs or alternatively 48x36mm studs if you´d like to save some height directly on the sub-floor. You can also use 48x30mm studs, if the floor plates has sufficient strength
We recommend to use 30cm between each U-boat and 60 cm center-center distance between each row of U-boats. Further we recommend using 48x48mm or 48x36mm studs. 48x30mm studs could also be used, if the floor plates has sufficient strength.
We also recommend using insulation under the floor plates.
We strongly recommend to use green glue and an additional layer of fiber gypsum plates to further improve sound insulation efficiency.
Please remember to never allow the floorboards to touch the surrounding walls as this would reduce the efficiency of the decoupling significantly. We recommend that you leave about 2-3mm and use GreenGlue Sealant to cover the gap.
