PURPOSE / PRINCIPLE / APPLICATION

01 / Damping belongs between the layers.

Mass and decoupling have a partner.

Apply the compound between the rigid board layers specified for the construction. Its viscoelastic layer is intended to dissipate vibration energy as the layers move. Use it as one part of the assembled system, alongside the clips or floor supports, lining and cavity treatment.

02 / A clear quantity rule.

One application. One interface.

Allow one litre per 2400 × 600 mm application area. One 10-litre bucket therefore covers ten such application areas, or 14.4 m². Two board layers have one interface between them, not two. Treating both wall faces or adding more interfaces requires the corresponding additional compound.

03 / Make the installation visible.

Red for coverage control.

The red colour makes the applied material visible during installation. Follow the project application instructions for distribution, assembly and curing. The boards still require their specified fixings; do not treat the damping compound as structural adhesive or substitute it for perimeter sealant.

04 / Keep the system connected.

Use the same rule in the planner.

The System Planner calculates damping interfaces for the selected surfaces and layer arrangement, includes the chosen material allowance, then rounds up to complete 10-litre buckets. Supporting boards, joint treatment and fixings remain separate entries.

05 / Performance evidence.

A component, not a standalone dB rating.

Sound isolation depends on the complete assembly. The wall measurements on the homepage are not the isolated contribution of Compound Red and must not be applied to an arbitrary wall or floor. Ask the ProSilence team for the current product and installation documentation for your specification.

Enter the total area of the damping interfaces. Two board layers on one face have one interface. Add the other face or additional interfaces to the area when applicable.

1 L per 1.44 m². 14.4 m² per 10 L bucket before allowance. Whole buckets are rounded up.
